WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Bruins Baseball hosted Greensboro College for the second game of a double-header. Carolina University won the first game by a final score of 10-7 and that momentum looked to carry over. The Bruins were up 7-2 after the fourth inning. However, the fifth inning got away from the CU as they gave up 10 runs. The bleeding continued into the sixth as the Bruins gave up 7 more. Greensboro would go on to win the game by a final score of 21-13
Kaleb Whitaker started on the mound for the Bruins and took the loss. Whitaker pitched 3 innings with 1 strikeout and only gave up 1 earned run. Shannon, Rhineberg, Vanbogart, Winecoff, and Edwards. came on in relief.
Matt Martir-Tullock homered again in this game giving him 3 on the season.
Josh Kent went 1-2 on the day, scored 4 times, and hit a two-run shot over the right center wall. This was Kent's 4th homerun of the season.
John Giboyeaux and
Logan Conklin each had nice games at the plate as well. Giboyeaux went 3-4 and Conklin hit 2 doubles and earned 4 RBIs.
Carolina University ends the day with a split with Greensboro College and sits at 9-10 on the season. The Bruins will next be in action at home against Virginia State College for a double-header on Saturday, April 3rd.Â
