WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Bruins Softball played West Virginia University Tech for the second game of a double-header on Saturday, March 13th. Carolina University opened the game with a bang as
Kayli Cook hit her first homerun of the season to lead off the bottom of the first inning. However, WVUT quickly countered and took a 2-1 lead after the second inning. The Golden Bears continued to extend that lead and would go on to win this game 7-1.Â
Danielle Brooks pitched a complete game for the Bruins and struck out 3 with only 2 walks. Offense was hard to come by for CU and statistically it was represented by
Kayli Cook's solo homerun in the bottom of the first.
Carolina University moved to 5-9 after the loss and will look to get back on track Monday, March 15th. The Bruins will travel to Danville, VA to play against NCAA DIII Averett University.
