GREENVILLE, SC -- Carolina University Baseball played at Bob Jones University on Saturday, March 13th. This was the second game of the series and the first of Saturday's double-header. CU exploded for 19 runs to win the previous night and the offense kept clicking early. Carolina University scored 6 runs in the top of the first and looked to be in control again. However, Bob Jones settled in and slowly started to chip away at the lead. BJU had a 5-run fourth inning that allowed them to take an 8-6 lead over CU. Carolina University got the bats going again in the fifth inning and responded. CU would score 4 runs to retake a 10-8 lead. Carolina University's pitching and defense went on to close out the game and allow CU to hang on for the 10-8 victory.Â
Lucas Shannon started on the mound and would go on to earn the win. Shannon struck out 4 batters in 3 and 2/3 innings pitched. Kobe Vanbogart came on in relief and earned the save by striking out 5 batters across 3 and 1/3 innings pitched.
Drew Martin led the way offensively for CU. Martin went 2-4 at the plate with a double and a triple. Martin's triple earned 2 RBI's including the winning run in the top of the fifth inning.

Abdiel Santana-Carrasquillo earned 2 RBI's each in their plate appearances.
Carolina University will seek the series sweep and a season best 3 game win streak in the second game of the day against BJU.
