WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Bruins Men's Volleyball played the Maranatha Baptist Sabercats in the 5th Place Match at the NCCAA Men's Volleyball National Invitational on January 23rd. The opening set was very competitive with multiple lead changes, but the Sabercats got hot down the stretch and won 25-15. The Bruins jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the second set, but again Maranatha went on a run and took a 21-15 advantage. Carolina University came close with a late flurry, but fell just short dropping the set 25-22. Maranatha was in control of much of the third set and secured the match and 5th place with a 3-0 victory.

Tijhmir Glasco who had a career-high 18 assists and 7 digs.
Brady Bartlett also had a strong showing with a personal best 10 kills and 5 digs.
Ronald Smart had a nice net presence as well with 3 blocks and 3 kills.
The Bruins will return to action on Tuesday, February 9th at 6:00pm. Carolina University will play at Reinhardt University. The Bruins opened up the season against the Eagles and will look to even the season series after losing the first meeting on January 15th.
