Women's Soccer Beats Royals to Advance to Second Round

ROCKY MOUNT, NC -- Carolina University Women's Soccer played Regent University on Saturday, November 13th in the first game of the NCCAA South Region Tournament. The Bruins were looking for another win over the Royals after winning both matchups in the regular season.

For much of the beginning of the game, both teams played aggressive soccer with no score on the board. During the 32nd minute of play, Aaliyah Rubio scored her 5th goal of the season to give the Bruins the lead going into halftime. Sidney Smith came into the second half of the game for the Bruins and scored in the 59th minute of play with the assistance of Sheila Aguilar. The game ended in another win over the Bruins with a 2-0 final score. 

The Bruins are now advancing to the NCCAA South Region Tournament Semi-Finals against top ranked Bob Jones University on November 17th at 5 PM in Lake Wales, FL.
