Second Half Success Leads Women's Soccer to Victory

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA -- Carolina University Women's Soccer was on the road at Regent University on Saturday, November 5th. The Bruins were looking to use their momentum from their hard fought win in overtime against Bluefield State College and were successful. At half time, the score was 0-0 with aggressive soccer being played by both opponents. Carolina University came into the second half on fire with an early goal, and 5 additional goals followed. The game ended in a big win on the road with a 6-0 final score.

The Bruins received great contributions from several members of the team. Sarah Walters had the first goal of the game in the 54th minute and an additional goal in the 80th minute. Natasha Mariam also had an offensively physical game ending with back to back goals both in the last 5 minutes of play. Sidney Smith and Aaliyah Rubio also ended the game with a goal to contribute to the victory. Unlike the last competition with Regent University, all of the Bruins goals came from the starting lineup.

The Bruins are now 9-8 to close out their regular season as they move onto the NCCAA South Region Tournament in Rocky Mountain, NC. The Bruins are set for another match against the Royals in the first round on Saturday, November 13th at 6 PM.
