WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- The Carolina University Women's Volleyball Team hosted St. Andrews University on Thursday, November 4th. The Bruins beat the Knights 3-1 earlier in the season, but nothing is ever easy at the end of the year. The Knights looked ready from the start and raced out to a 10-3 lead. The Bruins made a couple of runs, but were never able to take the lead. The first set went SAU by a final score of 25-19. The second set was a similar story, and St. Andrews led wire to wire to go up 2-0 on the match. The Knights had another hot start to the third set, but CU didn't go away. The Bruins clawed their way back into the game and tied the set at 22-22. However, St. Andrews was able to make the plays down the stretch and won 25-22. Carolina University would ultimately fall in the match by a final score of 0-3.
Carolina University was led offensively by
Destinee Hardamon and
Kamra King. The duo combined for many points on the night with Hardamon being credited for a match-high 14 kills and King had a match-high 23 assists. King also had 3 aces on the night.
Chiara Mottola was an engine for each of the Bruins runs with her 6 kills and 3 aces. It felt like each of her kills was connected to a CU run. On defense,
