WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Carolina University hosted a Tri-Match on Saturday, October 30th featuring NCCAA Regent University and #1 ranked Bob Jones University. The Bruins faced off against Regent University in the first match of the day at 2:00PM. The Bruins had swept the Royals to open the season and picked up right where they left off. Carolina University jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first set and weathered a run by Regent to win 25-20. CU found a groove in the second set and won 25-12. The third set was much of the same as the Bruins won 25-17 to seal the 3-0 match victory.
Kamra King was everywhere for the Bruins in this one. King had been playing well entering the match, but truly did a bit of everything ot help secure the sweep. She had a match-high 23 assists and added 6 kills. Defensively, King tied for team highs in digs and blocks with 14 and 2 respectively.
Chiara Mottola also had a tremendous game for CU in which she earned 9 kills, had 8 digs, and was credited with 2 blocks.
Regan Adams tied for a team-high 14 digs and
Destinee Hardamon had a match-high 10 kills.
Carolina Uniiversity will face the #1 ranked Bob Jones University in the nightcap at 6:00PM.
