WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Carolina University Women's Volleyball hosted Guilford College on Friday, October 1st. Based upon common opponents, this was expected to be a tightly contested matchup. However, the Bruins dominated the net and scoreboard from start to finish. Carolina University won via 3-0 sweep and never allowed the Quakers to score more than 14 in a set (25-12, 25-11, 25-14). The Bruins also had 35 kills to Guilford's 13 which is just one indication of their offensive dominance.

Destinee Hardamon led that charge for the Bruins with a game-high 17 kills. Sarah Pickett also had a strong showing with 7 kills, 2 blocks, and 10 digs. Chiara Mottola had a modest statistical night, but made a huge impact for the Bruins. Mottola had 5 kills and a game-high 3 blocks, but seemed to make crucial plays and be a constant factor at the net.

Carolina University moves to 6-5 after back-to-back wins heading into a rivalry match in Greenville, SC. CU will play at #1 Bob Jones University (NCCAA DII ranking at time of this article) on Friday, October 8th with a 6:00PM start time. Last season, Carolina University split with Bob Jones University with the home squad able to get the win in each meeting. This should be an excellent match and can be viewed via LiveStream.
