GREENVILLE, SC -- Carolina University Women's Volleyball traveled to rival Bob Jones University on Friday, October 8th. BJU entered the match as the #1 ranked team in the national polls for NCCAA DII. CU hoped to play home spoiler, but BJU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead powered by a 25-11 first set. Bob Jones carried the momentum into the second set, but a CU timeout allowed them to regroup. Carolina University slowly chipped away, but came up just short to fall behind 2-0. However, their confidence grew and CU won the thirsd set to bring the match to a score of 1-2. Bob Jones University opened the third set with a big run, which sealed the 3-1 victory.
Offensively, CU was led by
Destinee Hardamon and
Chiara Mottola who each had 9 kills.
Regan Adams had a team-high 12 assists. Defensively,
Sarah Pickett (14), Adams (10), and
Rebecca Walker (10) all earned double-digit digs.Â
The Bruins now sit at 6-6 and will next take the court in Meadowview, VA. Carolina University will take-on Emory & Henry University on Friday, October 15th.
