WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Carolina University Women's Basketball hosted Carolina Christian College on Tuesday, October 26th. The matchup featured two schools from Winston-Salem, and the Williams Gymnasium had a great atmosphere. The Bruins got off to a good start and held a 16-8 lead after the first quarter. However, the Centurions would not go away easily and managed to tie the game at 26-26 by halftime. Carolina Christian then used that momentum to take the lead in the third quarter. The Bruins would try to make a run, but CCC was able to hang on. Carolina University would fall by a final score of 47-61.Â
The Bruins were led by a double-double from
Malayah Montgomery. Montgomery posted a game-high 11 rebounds and scored 11 points.
Taia Smith had another strong performance and had a team-high 12 points with 7 rebounds.Â
Carolina University (0-2) looks to play again next on Wednesday, November 3rd in Montreat, NC. The Bruins will travel to play Montreat College with a 5:30 PM tip-off.
