MEADOWVIEW, VA -- Carolina University Women's Volleyball travled to Emory & Henry College on Friday, October 15th. The Bruins hoped to play spoiler to the Wasps' Homecoming festivities and got off to a great start. CU was able to steal the first set by a score of 25-20. Emory & Henry then answered with a similar 25-21 victory in the second set. In a pivotal third set, the Wasps were able to go on an 8-0 run to take an 18-12 lead which led to a 25-19 victory. Up 2-1, Emory & Henry was able to close out the match with a 25-15 fourth set and earn the 3-1 victory.Â
The Bruins were led by
Kamra King who did a bit of everything. King had 8 kills, 1 ace, 1 block, a team-high 19 assists, and a match-high 14 digs.
Chiara Mottola also had a strong performance. Mottola was a presence at the net with her 8 kills and 4 blocks.
Carolina University now sits at 6-7 and will look to get back on track at Paine College. The Bruins will travel to Augusta, GA on Tuesday, October 19th to take on the 3-12 Lions. This match is also important as an NCCAA matchup.
