LAURINBURG, NC -- Carolina University Women's Soccer traveled to St. Andrews University for a road match on Wednesday, October 6th. The Bruins were winners of their last 3 matches and hoped to keep the streak alive. The game began as a defensive effort, but the Knights were able to score late in the first half to take a 2-0 lead. St. Andrews then capped the game off in the 55th minute with a third goal that proved to much to overcome. The Bruins would fall in this game by a final score of 0-3.
Carolina University competed, but just couldn't generate any goals. The Bruins did take 12 shots and put 8 on goal. Zee Ventura was solid in goal with 11 saves.
The Bruins now move to 4-6 on the season with NCCAA D1 South Region opponent, Regent University, coming to town on Saturday, October 9th. This matchup is critical for CU and will be played at BB&T Soccer Park with a 3:00 PM kick-off.
