WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Carolina University Women's Soccer hosted NCCAA South Region foe, Regent University, on Saturday, October 9th. The Bruins got to work early with 3 goals in the first half and held a healthy 3-0 lead at the break. However, CU would not just coast to victory. The Bruins continued to attack the net and scored 6 goals in the second half to roll to a 9-0 statement win at home.
The Bruins had some monster individual performances as a part of this big victory.
Sidney Smith lead the way as she scored a career-high 4 goals in this game. Smith found the back of the net at 20', 52', 78', and 88'.
Natasha Mariam also had multiple goals for the third time this season as she scored at the 49:31 and 63:59 marks. This brings Mariam's season total to 9 goals.
Cameron Dubuc (4) and
Angie Hernandez Victorino (2) also scored the Bruins. These ladies didn't do it all on their own as
Hayden Pacheco, Alondra Ramon, and
Mary Jester all earned assists.
This win sets Carolina University up well for their showdown with rival and #10 ranked Bob Jones University. CU will host BJU on Wednesday, October 13th at BB&T Soccer Park with a 4:00 PM kick-off.
