MEADOWVIEW, VA -- Carolina University Women's Soccer was on the road at Emory & Henry for a Sunday Soccer Showcase on October 17th. The Bruins and Wasps played in front of a crowd of over 200 people for this exciting matchup. Early on, it appeared that this would be a defensive game, but the offenses showed up in the middle third of the game. Emory & Henry started with a goal in the 32nd minute. The Bruins were quick to answer with a goal of their own in the 34th minute. The Wasps then went on a scoring spree to score 3 more goals between the 41:19 and 52:53 mark. Carolina University didn't give up and scored a goal in the 55th minute to cut the deficit down to 4-2. Emory & Henry tried to shut the door with a goal at 62:08. The Bruins tried to rally late, but couldn't come all the way back. The Wasps would go on to win by a final score of 5-3.

Angie Hernandez Victorino (3) scored at 33:30 and was assisted by
Mary Jester (4).
Savannah Placie (2) found the back of the net at 54:46 and was assisted by
Natasha Mariam (1).
Sarah Walters scored her first goal of the season in the 78th minute off the cross by
Aaliyah Rubio (3). Zee Ventura played all 90 in the goal and earned 11 saves after facing 16 SOG and 36 total shots.
Carolina University Women's Soccer now sits at 5-8 with 4 games to play. The Bruins will next play at home on Saturday, October 23rd when they host Warren Wilson College with a 1:00 PM kick-off.
