Men's Soccer Falls on the Road

LAURINBURG, NC -- Carolina University Men's Soccer traveled to play at NAIA St. Andrews University on Wednesday, October 6th. The Bruins opened up the match with a tough break on an Own Goal and PK for the Knights to fall down 0-2. However, the offense picked up and Luke Spillane-Davis scored a goal just 48 seconds later. Carolina University then evened the score at 2-2 with a goal in the 44th minute. The second half was very physical and stayed locked up until the 81st minute. The Knights converted a goal and sealed the victory with another goal in the 83rd minute. St. Andrews won this highly competitive matchup by a final score of 4-2.

Carolina University won the statistical matchups, but just couldn't translate that to a difference on the scoreboard. The Bruins goals were scored by Luke Spillane-Davis (3) and Owen Vaughan. This was Vaughan's first goal of the season.

CU Men's Soccer now sits at 4-6 and will look to right the ship against Regent University on Saturday, October 9th. The Royals are an NCCAA D1 South Regional Opponent for the Bruins and very crucial matchup. Carolina University will host the match at BB&T Soccer Park with a 5:00 PM kick-off.
