Women's Soccer Shines in Shutout Win

Toccoa Falls, GA -- On Wednesday, September 23rd Carolina University Women's Soccer traveled to take on the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles. The Bruins controlled the pace of play and executed brilliantly to secure a 3-0 victory. Earning the win and first career shutout in the net was Freshman Jamison Calhoun. Offensively, the Bruins were led by Junior Hayden Pacheco who created the team's second goal and directly assisted on the third. Pacheco played a near perfect game and helped to facilitate great action for her teammates. Scoring goals for Carolina University were Trinity Gray, Savannah Placie, and Natasha Mariam, who also recorded an assist in the contest.

The Coaching Staff was excited to see the Bruins feel success and take steps forward as the season progresses. Head Coach Kyle Neal believed that the decision-making and execution both improved from the first match. He commented that, "It felt good to see film analysis and practice themes come to life." The Bruins will celebrate this win, but do have big plans to prepare for the next week.

On Friday, October 2nd Carolina University will travel to Greenville, SC to challenge rival Bob Jones University. Coach Neal is hoping to instill "competition and urgency" this week as his squad looks to steal one on the road. Carolina University is expected to put on a strong showing and compete in what is sure to be an entertaining match.
