FERRUM, VA - The Lady Bruins softball team dropped double-header games versus Ferrum College, 5-6, and 0-2.

Game One
Kayli Cook got the team on the board off a fielding error from Ferrum. At bat, Ferrum would record three unresponded runs until Cook would score again for PIU in third.

After being down three in the seventh, the Bruins scored off a home run from Lyric Ryan running in Maggie and Missy Smith to tie the game. Unfortunately, Ferrum would score another and take the win.

Savanna Nobles was on the mound for the Lady Bruins, pitching all innings, allowing ten hits and six runs.

Game Two
The Bruins and Panthers experienced a low scoring second game, as Ferrum scored only two runs in the third and fifth innings.

Ryan pitched for Piedmont, allowing seven hits and two runs. Cook and Missy Smith led the team with two hits each.

Piedmont will travel to Fayetteville, NC, on Thursday (Feb. 27) as they take on Methodist University.
