MONTGOMERY, AL -- Carolina University Men's Soccer played Faulkner University on the road Friday, October 16th. The Bruins hadn't played in nearly a month, but they appeared to be in mid-season form. CU was on the attack all night and downed the Faulkner Eagles 4-1. Carolina University moved to 2-0 after the victory.
It took just under 16 minutes for the Bruins to find the back of the net as
Brayan Gomez converted the
Govanni Mayas assist to take a 1-0 lead. Carolina University stretched that lead to 3-0 within the next 10 minutes as
Pablo Lopez and
Mario Salinas each scored.
Mario Salinas scored again 3 minutes into the second half to put the Bruins up 4-0 and all but secure the victory. Faulkner did score in the 85th minute of the game to post a final score of 4-1.
Carolina University has a quick turnaround to play at Talladega College in Talladega, AL on Saturday, October 17th at 2:00PM. Talladega is 1-1 on the season and should be another solid NAIA opponent for the Bruins. CU will return home on Saturday, October 24th to host Brevard College in the Golden Game.
