GREENVILLE, SC -- The Carolina University Women's Volleyball Team traveled to face-off against rival, Bob Jones University, on Friday, October 9th. Carolina University won in a thrilling 5 set match at home on September 25th and had intentions of stealing the road victory. Coach Brenn Ferguson had her squad ready to go early as CU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first set. Bob Jones University settled in and went on a few runs of their own to draw the first set even at 20-20. CU committed a few unfortunate errors and dropped that set 25-21. Carolina University was down but not out as they found themselves in the same situation in the second set. With both teams knotted at 20, CU was the group to finish strong and even the match with a score of 30-28. CU fell behind early in set three and just couldn't quite complete the comeback as BJU took a 2-1 lead into the fourth. CU continued to battle and put themselves in position to even the match with a 17-13 lead in the fourth. BJU caught fire late and went on a +5 run that led to the set win and a 3-1 match victory. 

After the match, Coach Ferguson gave credit to Bob Jones University for making the plays they needed to close out sets. Despite the loss, Ferguson and her coaching staff have a lot of confidence in their group and believe they can be a lot better as the season progresses. Chiara Mottola and Alessandra Sendler both had double-digit kills with 12 and 10 respectively. Virgillia Jones led Carolina University with 4 blocks and also chipped in 8 kills.

Following this match, Carolina University immediately played Life University as a part of the Tri-Match hosted by Greenville University.
