GRAYSON, KY - Piedmont International University volleyball brought home two wins this weekend in a tri-match against Kentucky Christian, 3-1, and Columbia International, 3-1.

Game 1: KCU vs. Piedmont

The Bruins dropped the first set to the Crusaders, 26-24. Piedmont was outhit .214 to .163 but still recorded 14 kills in the game.

In the second set, PIU fell behind but was able to tie the game up at 18. Piedmont would go on a 7-3 run to finish off the set, 25-21, with a kill by Cydne Moore.

An 11 point service run by Chelsea Edwards allowed for the Bruins to get a head start in the third set. KCU would find a 9 point run of their own a couple of points later. PIU hit a .257 and recorded 15 kills.

The final set went to the Bruins 25-22 after being tied at 5, 15, and 20. A kill by Mastin and service error from KCU gave the Bruins the 3-1 victory.

Three players hit in the double-digits for the Bruins: Mastin (11), Jones (12), and Bullard (16). Chelsea Edwards registered 48 assists, and Daylin Schweizer added three aces to the score sheet. Piedmont collected 83 digs for the match with 22 earned by Cameron Dubuc.

Game 2: CIU vs. Piedmont

In the second match of the day, Piedmont out hit CIU .207 to .054 and logged 43 kills to the Mustangs 32. Bullard led the Bruins with a match-high of 17 kills. Sophomores Mastin and Jones added 11 and 9 kills respectively.

PIU logged 15 aces during the four-set match. Bullard and Mastin recorded six and four aces apiece, while Chelsea Edwards added 3 of her own.  Piedmont finished the Rams 25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 25-13.
