Box Score MISENHEIMER NC - Piedmont International University volleyball pulled out a fifth set victory on Thursday over hosts Pfeiffer University.

After falling in the first set 17-25 to the hot-hitting Pfeiffer team, the Bruins came back to out-hit the Falcons in the next four sets of the match, hitting as high as .261 in the final set.

Senior outside Olivia Bullard led the Bruins' offense with 19 kills. Sophomores Virgillia Jones and Mckenzie Mastin recorded ten and seven kills.

Piedmont picked up sets two and three (25-19, 25-20) before dropping the fourth set (22-25), forcing themselves into a fifth set battle.

The Bruins played aggressively at the net to earn a total of 15 blocks. Middles Cydne Moore and Jones accounted for the majority of the team's blocks, scoring eight blocks between the two. Chelsea Edwards and Bullard added three blocks apiece. PIU also stayed competitive on the back service line pushing the Falcons out of the system and earning seven aces.

In the final set, the Bruins took control of the game's momentum and finished the Falcons 15-13.

The team registered 68 digs to the Falcons 58. Cameron Dubuc posted 19 digs while Bullard recorded 18.

The Bruins head to Kentucky to play Kentucky Christian University and Columbia International University on Saturday at 11 AM and 1 PM.
