KISSIMMEE, FL - Piedmont's men's soccer team opened up play at the NCCAA National Tournament against Mid-American Christian University on Monday (Dec. 2). The Bruins fell to the Evangles 2 to 3.
Mid-American took a quick lead in the first half as they scored two unresponded goals in the 3rd and 22nd minutes.
In the second half, Piedmont got on the board with a goal from
Jason Mejia Moreno, assisted by
Armando Aguilera. In the 68th minute, the Evangles pushed their lead further, 3-1, with a one on one goal.
Mario Salinas recorded his 10th goal of the season in the 73rd minute to finish the scoring 3-2.
Goalkeeper
Jeremiah Gibbs kept the Bruins in the game with three saves as the Evangles offense generated ten total shots on goal. Jason Mejia Morena led the squad with three shots.

Francisco Tapia each had a shot, as well.Â
Piedmont will face Robert Wesleyan College tomorrow afternoon for their final game of pool play. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 PM.
