Bruins Settle for 0-0 Draw

ADVANCE, NC - The Bruins came back home on Wednesday night as they hosted the Johnson and Wales University Wildcats in a game that finished as a 0-0 draw under the lights.

The Bruins (4-3-2) dominated the shot count, registering 16 shots to only 4 for the Wildcats. Freshman winger Mario Salinas led the way with seven shots for the Bruins.

The Bruins had several chances to score on the evening. In the 71st minute, sophomore forward Francisco Tapia laid off a ball for Salinas, who rounded the keeper before seeing his shot blocked off the line by a hustling defender. Moments later, Salinas would see his effort from a distance hit the inside of the post and cleared away.

The overtime periods would see a few more chances, but in the end, neither side could find the breakthrough.

"Even though it wasn't the prettiest game," said Head Coach Craig Golding, "we still created enough quality chances to win the game but couldn't put them away. We'll now have to prepare for a very good Belmont Abbey at home on Monday."

The Bruins will be back in action at home on Monday, playing host to Belmont Abbey with a 7 PM kickoff at BB&T Soccer Park in Advance, NC.
