CHARLOTTE, NC - Senior setter
Chelsea Edwards broke the 2,000 assist mark at Thursday's five-set away match at Johnson & Wales University. The Bruins took the Wildcats 3 sets to 2.
Piedmont came out flat, dropping the first set 9-25. The Bruins battled back in the second (25-17) by shutting down the Wildcats offense to a negative hitting percentage of -.027. PIU would come close to taking the third set, but JWU would cap it 25-22.
Chelsea Edwards hit her setting milestone in the fourth set off a middle kill by
Virgillia Jones. PIU would take the set 25-12. In the fifth, the score went back and forth until the switch when PIU took all the momentum and forged ahead, earning 7 points to the WIldacats 2 (15-10).
PIU recorded 44 kills on the evening. Â Sophomore middle Jones led the offense with 14 kills while senior outside Olivia Billard added 11.
Chelsea Edwards tallied a total of 30 assists on the night.

Cameron Dubuc supported the defense for the Bruins with 28 digs to go along with
Daylin Schweizer's and Edwards' ten digs.
The Bruins will head on the road this Saturday as they travel to Greenville, SC for a tri-match at Bob Jones University. Games are scheduled for 1:00 and 5:00 PM.
