GREENVILLE, SC - The Piedmont International University volleyball team dropped two matches at the Bob Jones University Tournament on Saturday (Oct. 19) both 3-0.
In the first match against Bob Jones University, the Bruins fell 8-25, 12-25, and 21-25.
Piedmont hit a .047, totaling 23 kills. Olivia Bullard posted a team-high seven kills in the match while Mariah Robinson and Chelsea Edwards posted three and two kills. Edwards registered 18 assists on the night while Cameron Dubuc led the team with 14 digs.
In the second match of the day against the University of Pikeville, PIU fell 20-25,15-25, and 20-25.
PIU hit better in the second with a .181 hitting percentage. Virgillia Jones led the team with seven kills. Bullard and Robinson added six and five kills, respectively. Edwards registered 15 assists and two crucial aces for the Bruins. Daylin Schweizer picked up eight digs in the match.
The Bruins are back in action next Friday (Oct. 25) when they host NC Wesleyan and Randolph for a tri-match. The first serve is set for 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
