BLUEFIELD, VA - Piedmont International kicked off the season with a strong contest that went the distance with the teams playing to a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes.

Both teams played intense defense, forcing the first half of the match to a scoreless result. Bluefield would be the first to get on the board with their first goal from a midfielder after the halftime break in the 61st minute.  Kelsie Ramirez tied up the match in the 84th to get the Bruins back in the game.

The overtime periods would see no goals as Ericka Washburn made a fantastic save to keep the game tied. After 110 minutes, PIU finished the game in a tie.

The Bruins will look to secure their first win of the season as they head to Columbia College on Saturday at 5 PM.
