Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The Piedmont International University Bruins were able to get back to their winning ways on Thursday as they defeated Regent University 4-0 on the road.
The Bruins (5-4-2) got on the board quickly as sophomore fullback
Nate Schultz sent the ball through the box where freshman
Govanni Mayas grabbed his first career goal.
Mayas would also register his first career assist a bit later in the half. He went down the right side and picked out junior forward
Brayan Gomez inside the 6-yard box, who finished the ball off for a 2-0 lead.Â
The game would remain 2-0 until late in the second half when sophomore
Francisco Tapia scored a long-range shot, and
Mario Salinas cleaned up his rebound to give the Bruins a 4-0 victory.Â
PIU out shot Regent in the game by a margin of 19-5 as they registered their 3rd clean sheet this year and restored their winning record.Â
The Bruins will return home on Monday as they take on Shaw University at 6 PM at BB&T Soccer Park in Advance, NC.Â
