Winston-Salem, NC -- The Piedmont Bruins (6-10) secured a 79-53 win at home over the Trinity Baptist Eagles (6-10) Thursday night.
After an early run in the second half, the Bruins surged ahead of the Eagles with their aggressive offense and tight defense.
Robert Parks III impressed the Bruins, putting up 10 points, 7 rebounds, and going 6 for 6 on the free throw line. Parks was joined by two other teammates in putting up double-digit points totals:
Tamir Glenn getting 13 points and 7 rebounds and
China Jones adding 10 points and 6 blocks.
Joshua Daniels, who made his season debut during Monday's game against Newberry College, put up 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block for the Bruins during his 12 minutes of play.
It was the"play of the game" that pushed the Bruin's momentum to the finished line. The play came at 69-49 when
Kenneth Williams Jr. brought the ball up the court and shot it to
Justin Poythress who slam dunked the ball through the net. Pythoness added 8 rebounds and 6 points on the night.
The Bruins will hit the road this weekend as they travel to Bluefield, VA for the Bluefield College Tournament. Games will be held on Saturday at 4 PM and Sunday at 6 PM.
