Winston-Salem, NC -- Piedmont International (2-3-0) dropped NCCAA conference match against Emmanuel College Lions (4-4-0), 1-4, at BB&T Soccer Park on Saturday afternoon.

While Emmanuel College challenged the Bruins with their speed and offensive persistence, the Bruin defense rose to the challenge. The back line, Nate Schultz and Francisco Bribiesca made multiple saves to keep the Lion's ball from finding the goal. But it wasn't enough for the Bruins as Emmanuel added a goal in the 15th and 48th minute.

In the 60th minute, Jose Perez scored his second goal on the season to put the Bruins on the board.

The Lions came back and scored in the 72nd minute on a penalty kick. Just a minute later, Emmanuel College's ball found the back of the net for their fourth and final goal.

The Emmanuel Lions came out on top with 14 shots on goal versus the Bruins 3.

"I thought we played very well against a team that usually wins the NCCAA Southern Region or is playing in the Southern Regional Championship game. It was good to come up against a team of their quality," head coach Craig Golding said. "We had some things that unfortunately went against us and the score line wasn't a fair reflection of the game but we now have to move on to Monday against a good Johnson and Wales team."

Senior keeper Tony Ramirez racked up 10 saves between the posts.

Piedmont International will be home again on Monday evening to take on Johnson and Wales University.
