Winston-Salem, NC -- The men's soccer team at Piedmont International University was in action on Saturday as they took on Warren Wilson College (1-3) at BB&T Park and claimed their first victory of the year in a 4-0 win. 
 
It took a while for the Bruins (1-1) to get going in the first half, but they claimed the opening goal of the game in the 40^thminutes as substitute Brayan Gomez got into the box and maneuvered around the keeper for his first goal of the season giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead. 
 
Just 15 minutes into the second half, Javier Chavez would add to PIU's lead as his shot skipped past the keeper and into the net making it 2-0. 
 
The Bruins weren't done yet though as they added goals in the 81^stand 82^nd minute. The first of these was a clever finish from Joshua Logan as he slotted home from a narrow angle on the left side of the box after a nice pass from Joshua Michel. Just a minute later Logan would go around his defender and draw a penalty in the box. Francisco Bribiesca would step up and make it 4-0 from the spot. 
 
Piedmont dominated the shot total in the game 33-2 with the shots on target finished at 12-0. The shot leader for the Bruins was Brayan Gomez who tallied 5 shots in the game.
 
The Bruins will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. Game time is 7:00 PM.
