Hollins, VA -- The Lady Bruins bounced back after Wednesday's tough loss with a 7-1 win at Hollins University.

Tired legs and slight injuries caused a rotation of players and required a smart approach to this game. Kelsie Simpson got the goal scoring started early on in the match after beating a Hollin's defender and firing a shot too hard for the goalkeeper. Simpson added a second goal from a through ball pass by senior midfielder Ana Ordaz. Ordaz added a pair of her own goals to finish the first half scoring at 4-0.

Three minutes into the second half, Ordaz added her third goal after a lovely combination play with forward Ashli Mincey. Mincey and sophomore Cierra Josey capped off the performance with a goal apiece. Sydney Harris and Callie Chilton stepped up and lead the defense for the Bruins.

The Lady Bruins are scheduled to host Columbia International University on Monday at BB&T Sport Park. Kickoff is at 5:00 PM with the PIU Men's game to follow.
