Box Score Winston-Salem, NC -- It was a hot night for the Bruin's outside hitters as they helped defeat the Kentucky Christian University Knights. After dropping the first set, 27-25, the Lady Bruins came back to win the next three straight, 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.
"We played a good game against a good team tonight." said head coach Chelsea Jones, "We were able to find our way back to what makes us great, each other."
Freshman Mckenzie Mastin and junior Olivia Bullard took control of the Bruin offense racking up 12 and 16Â kills respectively. The Knights could never find a break from the power hitters. Virgillia Jones collected 10 kills herself.
Piedmont's defense also created another challenge for the Knights, as the front line put up a solid block and the back line stayed low and scrappy. Cydne Moore tallied 4 block while Jones collect 3. Cameron Dubuc dug 24 balls on the night.
Hannah Carter collected a total of 37 assists on the night.
The Bruins will be hosting Mid-Atlantic Christian University at 11:00 AM this Saturday. Due to injury, the Hiwassee College game has been canceled.
