Carolina University Athletics

Jacob Smith is in his first year as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Carolina University.

Smith comes to Carolina University after a successful tenure as Graduate Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Columbia International. At CIU, Smith helped eight student-athletes receive All-Conference recognition (one First Team, two Second Team, three All-Freshman, and three All-Defense). In addition to individual success, the Rams won the 2022 and 2023 NCCAA South Regional Championships and won the most conference games in a single season in program history.

Prior to joining the program at CIU, Smith had a decorated playing career at Southern Wesleyan University. Smith was on the 2020 Conference Carolinas Championship Team and won the Division II Academic Achievement Award and was a member of the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll.
