Hannah Latiolais brings over 14 years of coaching expertise to Carolina University as the new Head Women's Basketball Coach. Her career is marked by a proven track record of developing talent and achieving success both on and off the court.
Prior to joining Carolina University, Latiolais served at Champion College (2023-2025) where she led the team to a 42-10 overall record. During her tenure, she coached 1 National Player of the Year, 4 First Team All-Americans, and 4 Second Team All-Americans. The team maintained a No. 1 power ranking for 90% of her time, achieved a regional championship in 2024, and made two national championship appearances, earning the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds respectively. Latiolais achieved a 95% player return rate and successfully recruited six athletes from her home county, Galveston, to Champion College.
From 2022-2023, Latiolais was the Women's Head Coach and Men's Assistant Coach at Kirtland College, leading recruiting and foundational program development. Notably, from 2015-2022, she served as the Varsity Men's Head Coach at Houston Hyde, achieving over 500 wins, securing multiple national titles, and attaining a remarkable 82-12 season record in 2022, ranking 12th nationally. She was recognized as a 30 Under 30 honoree and developed numerous players who advanced to JUCO, NCAA Division I, and professional levels.
Latiolais also gained valuable experience with the Houston Rockets (2016-2017), building relationships with trainers and players. Her coaching philosophy, embodied by the quotes "Beat The Odds" and "Celebrating Elevation," emphasizes positivity, energy, commitment, and fostering a family environment. She is deeply committed to the holistic development of her athletes, with a particular focus on nurturing them into confident, Godly women. Her on-court strategy involves a robust defensive system and a dynamic offensive approach. Winning is viewed as a standard, not just a goal.
Latiolais holds an AS in Science from Dallas College and a BA in Psychology from the University of Houston. She started her coaching career at 15 with Santa Fe Youth Basketball and founded Houston Hyde, an AAU team for underprivileged youth in the Galveston/Houston area. She also served as the Men's Head Soccer coach at Champion College for one year.
