Darnell Wallace

Coach Darnell Wallace is entering his third year as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Carolina University.

Education: Wallace received his education in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School system.

Professional: Wallace most recently was the interim head basketball coach at Walkertown High School for the varsity girls' team during the 2017 season. In 2016, he was the head coach for the JV girls at Parkland Magnet High School. In addition to basketball, Wallace has had the opportunity to coach Parkland Magnet High School JV football team (August 2015-present), Atkins High School JV and varsity football teams (2014), and various Pop Warner football teams dating back to 1994.  

Community: Wallace has lent his skills and knowledge to the community over the years. Wallace is the CEO and founder of Sports Leadership Academy, Incorporated, a non-profit organization that operates in Winston-Salem. He concurrently coaches and promotes healthy life skills and education for 8 to 18-year-old athletes throughout the city with his organization. Sports Leadership Academy has four AAU teams that compete in tournaments all around the area.

Wallace is also a strong community advocate for childhood literacy, #yesweread. It is a mentoring and literacy program that lends support to youth in the summertime by hosting a young adult book club.

Personal: Coach Wallace resides in Winston-Salem, NC.
