Matt Glidewell

Matt Glidewell is a dedicated sports performance professional based in Winston-Salem, NC. With a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences, graduating with high honors from Guilford College, Matt has established a strong foundation in athletic training and sports administration, maintaining a remarkable GPA of 3.88 while earning a place on the Dean’s List.

Currently, as the Director of Sports Performance at Carolina University, Matt oversees the strength and conditioning programs for eight varsity athletic teams. His commitment to enhancing athletic performance is reflected in his innovative approach, which includes the integration of cutting-edge technology to optimize training effectiveness. Additionally, Matt played a key role in the design and upgrade of the university's weight room, creating a state-of-the-art facility for athletes.

Prior to his role at Carolina University, Matt gained valuable experience as a professional intern at Wake Forest University, where he developed presentations on performance-enhancing recovery strategies and designed targeted training programs for freshman men’s tennis athletes. His internship allowed him to work closely with multiple sports teams, including tennis, soccer, track and field, and more, fostering a well-rounded understanding of diverse athletic needs.

Matt also honed his training skills at Positive Stress Workout in Greensboro, where he crafted specialized training programs for both athletes and general fitness clients. His hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals have shaped his approach to sports performance and athlete development.
