SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Carolina University Bruins Softball team continued its road stretch on Saturday, March 28, falling in both games of a doubleheader against Spartanburg Methodist at Eva Grant Field. Battling injuries and looking to snap a six-game skid, the Bruins showed flashes offensively but ultimately dropped Game 1, 10-2, and Game 2, 8-3.
Despite the results, Carolina continues to search for momentum heading into the second half of the season.
"We're continuing to battle through adversity right now," said Interim Head Coach Danielle Brooks. "Even with the setbacks, I'm proud of how our team continues to compete. We're focused on making adjustments and getting back on track as we move forward."
Game 1: Spartanburg Methodist 10, Carolina University 2
Carolina struck early in the second inning, plating two runs behind RBI production from Skyla Hailey and aggressive baserunning from Anni Bergmeier. However, Spartanburg Methodist responded with consistent offensive pressure, scoring in every inning and breaking the game open with a five-run fourth.

Game 2: Spartanburg Methodist 8, Carolina University 3
The Bruins showed improved offensive production in Game 2, collecting seven hits and scoring three runs, highlighted by a two-RBI triple from Lexi Hall in the sixth inning.
Despite the late push, Spartanburg Methodist built an early lead and added three runs in the fifth inning to secure the sweep.
