WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Carolina University women's basketball team hosted a CAC pod at Williams Gymnasium from Thursday, January 22 through Saturday, January 24, welcoming Washington Adventist University and Fisher College for a two-game stretch that saw the Bruins battle through adversity before closing the weekend with a dominant victory.

On Thursday night, Carolina University Bruins Women's Basketball faced a tough test against Washington Adventist. After a competitive opening quarter, Carolina struggled to keep pace with the visitors' offensive efficiency, falling 94–73. The Bruins were led by MeiLani Patterson with 18 points, while Angelina Jordan added 17 and Dearia Page chipped in 14. Despite strong individual efforts and flashes of momentum throughout the game, Washington Adventist pulled away with a decisive second quarter and maintained control down the stretch.

Carolina bounced back emphatically on Saturday, overpowering Fisher College 87–14 in a wire-to-wire victory. The Bruins set the tone early with a 25–3 first quarter and never looked back, holding Fisher scoreless in the third quarter. Balanced scoring and relentless defensive pressure defined the performance, as multiple Bruins reached double figures and Carolina forced 29 turnovers, turning them into 40 points. Jakyiiah Willis and Tynilla Simpkins each scored 15 points, while Dearia Page and Angelina Jordan added 11 apiece in the commanding win.

Head coach Hannah Latiolais praised her team's response over the course of the pod.

"I was proud of how our group stayed together and responded after Thursday," Latiolais said. "Saturday showed the standard we're capable of playing to—defensively locked in, sharing the ball, and playing with energy for four quarters. That's the kind of effort we want to build on moving forward."

Carolina concluded the CAC pod with a 1–1 record and will look to carry the momentum from Saturday's performance into the next stretch of conference play.
