Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Carolina University Women's Soccer team is preparing for its 2025 home opener on Friday, August 29, as they welcome the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) to the Truist Sports Park pitch. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
The Bruins enter the matchup looking to build early-season momentum after opening the campaign on the road with losses to Pikeville and Spartanburg Methodist. Head Coach Boo Tesh and the squad are eager to showcase their talent in front of the home crowd for the first time this fall and see if they can get their first win of the season in front of the home crowd.
The Bruins will face a Rio Grande side already riding high on a strong start. The RedStorm kicked off their season on August 21 with a commanding 4-0 home victory over Bluefield University, showcasing offensive prowess with goals from Carmen Morris, Nevaeh Peffers, Jitske De Muijnk, and Saskia Vos. Rio Grande enters the matchup with an overall record of 1-0-0.
Carolina will be tested by a strong Rio Grande side that competes in the River States Conference and traditionally fields a competitive roster. Friday's contest will provide an opportunity for the Bruins to face a quality opponent and continue building rhythm and growth among the team in this young season.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Bruins in their first home action of 2025. Live coverage will be available at:
