Carolina University Women’s Soccer Travels to Spartanburg Methodist Wednesday

Winston-Salem, N.C. – August 25, 2025 – Carolina University Women's Soccer is back on the road this week as the Bruins travel to Spartanburg, S.C., to face Spartanburg Methodist College on Wednesday, August 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

The Bruins (0–1) are looking to bounce back after their season opener at Pikeville on Saturday.
Despite the 3–0 loss, Carolina showed bright moments, with sophomore goalkeeper Laurel Collins making five saves and newcomers McKenna VonCannon and Alexa Anderson creating multiple chances on goal. Spartanburg Methodist will be opening its 2025 season on Wednesday. The Pioneers, now competing in the NAIA's Appalachian Athletic Conference, will provide a fresh early-season challenge as both teams look to establish momentum.

Head Coach Boo Tesh is encouraged by his team's resilience in the opener and is eager to see continued growth:
"We learned a lot from our first match, and now it's about taking steps forward," Coach Tesh said. "Spartanburg Methodist is a tough opponent, and we're looking forward to testing ourselves again on the road."

Following Wednesday's matchup, Carolina will turn its attention to preparing for the home opener on Friday August 29 against University of Rio Grande (Ohio) at 4:00pm.
