Game 1:
Carolina University took control early in the first game of their doubleheader against Salem College, securing a 7-1 victory at Wilson Park. The Bruins wasted no time putting runs on the board, scoring three in the first inning.
ZyMaijah Thomas led off with a single and quickly made her way around the bases thanks to a passed ball and a two-run single by
Kalea Bolch. Carolina extended their lead in the fifth inning with a three-run outburst, highlighted by a clutch two-RBI single from pinch hitter
Chloe Herbster.
On the mound,
Danielle Brooks delivered a dominant performance, going the distance with a complete-game effort. Brooks allowed just one run on nine hits while striking out a personal best eight. The only blemish came in the fifth inning when Salem's N. George doubled and later scored on an RBI single from O. Porter.

The Bruins carried their momentum into the second game, overwhelming Salem College in a 15-4 run-rule victory in just five innings. After a scoreless first frame, Carolina exploded for four runs in the second, capped by Herbster's two-run homer to left center. The Bruins poured it on in the third, plating six runs with key hits from
Jocelyn DeMoss,
Madison Hamilton, and
Chloe Herbster, who tripled in another run.
Despite a four-run fourth inning from Salem, Carolina responded with five more runs in the bottom half, putting the game out of reach. Hamilton and Bolch each drove in a run, and Thomas delivered a two-run double to seal the victory.
Hamilton earned the win on the mound, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits while striking out two over five innings. Carolina's offense was relentless, collecting 16 hits, including multi-hit performances from Brooks, Bolch, Herbster, and Thomas.
