Carolina University Dominates Pfeiffer in 10-1 Victory

Rich Park, February 28, 2025 – Carolina University put on an impressive performance, overwhelming Pfeiffer University with a 10-1 victory. 

Early Lead and Big Fifth Inning

Carolina took control early, scoring two runs in the first inning. Pfeiffer managed to get on the scoreboard in the fourth inning when C. Bellanton scored on a groundout, but that was their only run of the night.

The fifth inning was the turning point. Carolina exploded with six runs, fueled by J. Brooks' monster grand slam home run, extending the lead to 8-1. Pfeiffer struggled with errors, allowing Carolina to capitalize. 

Pitching Dominance

Winning pitcher D. Martinez (1-1) delivered five strong innings, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out four. M. Kelley closed the game, allowing only one additional hit in two innings of relief. 

On the other side, Pfeiffer's pitching had a tough night. T. Lowe (0-1) took the loss, giving up six runs (four earned) in 4.1 innings. The bullpen didn't fare much better, surrendering additional runs due to hit batters and defensive mistakes.
