Milligan, TN – The Carolina University Softball team traveled to Milligan University last night to face off against the Buffaloes in a thrilling doubleheader.
In Game 1, the Buffaloes took an early lead, but the Blue and Gold fought back. The Bruins capitalized on the Buffaloes' errors, scoring the majority of their runs in the top of the 4th inning. Bre Payne contributed 2 RBIs, and Danielle Brooks pitched for the Bruins, earning the win after pitching several innings and recording 2 strikeouts. The game ended with a final score of 8-6 in favor of the Bruins.
In Game 2, the Bruins came up short, losing by just 2 runs. The Buffaloes took a 1-run lead in the 1st inning, but the Bruins responded with 5 runs in the top of the 2nd. Chloe Herbster and Brooks each recorded 3 RBIs, helping propel the Bruins' offense. However, the Buffaloes scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. The Bruins were unable to mount a comeback and fell 8-10.
The Bruins will return to action on Tuesday, February 18, against St. Andrews University in a doubleheader scheduled for 1:00 PM in an away game.
