Carolina University Volleyball Sweeps Warren Wilson

Syvannah Poore Reaches 1,000 Career Assists

October 7, 2025 – Winston-Salem, NC

The Carolina University Women's Volleyball team returned to action in dominant fashion on Tuesday evening, sweeping Warren Wilson College 3–0 (25–17, 25–18, 25–17) inside Williams Gymnasium. The Bruins improved to 13–7 overall with the victory, while celebrating a historic milestone for junior setter Syvannah Poore, who surpassed 1,000 career assists during the match.

Carolina's offense was steady and balanced throughout the evening, led by Karli Totel with seven kills and Rachel Powell with six. Jordan Connolly added four kills and hit .375, while Melia Coleman and Carlota Lobete each made key contributions at the net with multiple blocks. Defensively, Emma-Grace Dubuc anchored the back row with 19 digs, and Natalia Cano paced the service line with four aces.

Poore, who reached the 1,000-assist mark, finished with 14 assists, 12 digs, and three kills on a .600 hitting percentage. Her leadership and consistency have continued to set the tone for Carolina's offense all season.

Head Coach Chelsea Jones praised both the team's focus and Poore's achievement.

"I'm really proud of the way our team came out sharp after a week off," said Coach Jones. "We played with great energy and composure. Syvannah reaching 1,000 assists is a huge accomplishment and a reflection of her hard work and dedication to this program. We're excited to build on this momentum heading into conference play."

The Bruins now turn their attention to the CAC Classic, which they will host at Williams Gymnasium beginning Thursday, October 9, and running through Saturday, October 11. The event marks the start of Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) play and will feature visiting programs Fisher College, Haskell Indian Nations University, Florida College, Hesston College, and Florida National University.
