Carolina University Men’s Soccer Closes Regular Season at Johnson & Wales

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina University Men's Soccer team wrapped up its 2025 regular season on Wednesday evening with a road contest at Johnson & Wales University (Charlotte). On a cold, rainy night at the OrthoCarolina Sports Complex, the Bruins battled hard but fell 2–0 in their final match before next week's Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament in Georgia.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead in the second minute when Niklas Seguin scored off an assist from Antonino Terranova. Despite the early setback, Carolina settled in and matched the pace of play, creating several promising chances through Will McCamley, Jordan Julien, and David Bunton. The Bruins fired 12 total shots, including four on goal, and earned five corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Goalkeeper Josh Wilson once again anchored the defensive unit, recording six saves while facing 20 shots from Johnson & Wales. The hosts added a late insurance goal in the 88th minute from Justin Ortiz, assisted by Carlos Gonzalez Zepe and Geal Hernandez, to secure the 2–0 victory.

Head Coach Craig Golding praised his team's perseverance, stating, "It was a tough match. Our guys battled for 90 minutes and created good chances. We'll take the lessons from tonight and get ready to compete in Georgia next week."

The Bruins close their regular season with a 7–4–2 record and a 1–1 mark in CAC play. They now turn their focus to postseason action, heading to Georgia Gwinnett College for the CAC Tournament, where they'll look to build on a strong campaign and make a deep tournament run.
