Carolina University Women’s Soccer Opens Conference Play in Georgia

Winston-Salem, N.C. — The Carolina University Women's Soccer team is set to open conference play this week with a pair of matches in Lawrenceville, Georgia, hosted by Georgia Gwinnett College. The Bruins will take the field Thursday, October 16, with a 4:00 p.m. kickoff against Florida National University, followed by a quick turnaround to face the host Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett on Friday at 4:00 p.m.

Carolina enters the weekend with a 3-7-3 record, aiming to build on recent performances as they begin the conference portion of their schedule. The Bruins have shown steady improvement through a challenging non-conference slate and look to carry that experience into postseason positioning.

Thursday's opponent, Florida National, comes into the matchup with an 0-5-1 record and will be seeking their first win of the season. The Bruins will look to capitalize on their offensive creativity and defensive structure to start conference play on a positive note.

Following Thursday's contest, Carolina will meet Georgia Gwinnett on Friday afternoon in another 4:00 p.m. kickoff. The Grizzlies enter the weekend at 6-5-3, providing a strong test on their home field. Carolina will rely on depth and composure through the two-match stretch to close the weekend strong against a proven opponent.

Head Coach Boo Tesh and the Bruins continue to focus on consistency and execution as they turn the corner into the conference season. Both matches will be played in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with live coverage information available through Georgia Gwinnett College Athletics.
