Carolina University Men’s Soccer Defeats King University 2-0, Climbs to #7 in NCCAA Poll

Winston-Salem, N.C. – September 30, 2025 – Carolina University Men's Soccer secured a convincing 2-0 victory over King University Tuesday evening at Bryan Park. With the win, the Bruins improve to 4-2 overall while the Tornado drop to 2-3-2. The triumph comes on the heels of the latest NCCAA Coaches' Poll release, where Carolina University was ranked #7 nationally.

The Bruins wasted little time establishing control. In the 17th minute, Lewis Jacklin netted his fourth goal of the season to open the scoring. Just eight minutes later, Anton Geppert doubled the advantage with his first goal of the year, assisted by Tommaso Truant. Carolina carried the 2-0 lead into halftime and maintained their defensive composure throughout the second half.

Goalkeeper Joshua Wilson recorded a clean sheet, making two key saves, while the Bruins' back line held King to just two shots on goal across 90 minutes.

Head Coach Craig Golding praised his team's effort after the match:

"I'm really proud of the way our guys responded tonight. We came out with intensity, capitalized on our chances, and defended with discipline. It was a complete team performance, and it's encouraging to see us continue to grow this season."

Carolina University held a 13–7 advantage in shots and a 5–4 edge in corner kicks, controlling the pace for much of the match.

With this result, the Bruins look to build on their national ranking and momentum as they prepare for Pfeiffer University on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Truist Sports Park.
