Winston-Salem, NC- Carolina University Women's Volleyball faced the Rams of Bluefield University in their home season opener. Despite a determined effort, the Bruins lost 1-3.
The Blue and Gold started strong, winning the first set 25-15. The Bruins capitalized on the Rams' errors, putting together a string of impressive runs, with solid serve receive and scrappy defense. Senior Kamra King anchored the back row with 11 digs.
However, the momentum shifted in the last three sets as the Bruins struggled to maintain their composure. Despite their aggressive offensive plays, the Rams' defense proved unyielding. Bruins' Hayley Stull stood out with 8 kills and an impressive hitting percentage of .615%, but it wasn't enough to secure the win, ultimately falling in 4 sets scoring 25-15, 16-25, 13-25, 22-25.
The Bruins will be back in action on the road this week September 6th at 2:00 PM as they take on Pfeiffer University.
