Winston-Salem, NC – The Carolina University Women's Volleyball team faced off against the Lions of Paine College in an exciting home match tonight.
The Bruins started strong, dominating the first set with a final score of 25-16. Libero Rebecca Walker showcased her skills, ending the set with three service aces and achieving a personal best of 10 aces overall.
In the second set, the Bruins hit their stride, jumping to an impressive 8-2 lead before Paine called a timeout to halt their momentum. The Blue and Gold responded powerfully, adding two more aces to extend the lead to 10-2. Capitalizing on solid service reception, the Bruins maintained their offensive rhythm, finishing the set at 25-11 with a hitting percentage of .258%.
The Bruins wrapped up the match decisively in the third set, winning 25-12 after initially falling behind. They closed the game with an impressive eight-point run, including three points from Sion Murrain, who led the team with 12 kills. Sarah-Elizabeth Samuels also made a strong contribution, adding 9 kills.
Women's Volleyball will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to Johnson and Wales University for a match at 1:00 PM. Be sure to support the Bruins as they continue their season!
